John A. DePasquale


John is a senior level marketing strategist, business-builder and entrepreneur. He began his career as a Management Consultant with Arthur Young & Company (now Ernst & Young) undertaking operational efficiency studies within American Express, Mobil Oil, American Airlines and numerous other major brands. Thereafter, as a founding member of MBA Communications, Inc., a trade magazine publisher, he built the business to a stable of four magazines with combined circulation of over 800,000. In 1974 he sold his company interest to found The Direct Marketing Group, Inc. DMG became a vertically integrated direct mail communications company serving such clients as ChaseAmerican Express, Citibank, Prudential Insurance and scores of others.

The business grew to rank among the "top 10" direct marketers in the U.S.; peak billings of $350MM; mail volume in excess of 1.8MM units per day, handled by over 780 employees with offices in the U.S. and Europe. Won numerous Awards including the Diamond Echo from the Direct Marketing Association (best direct mail campaign in the world) for work with Commercial Credit Corporation. In 1994 he sold DMG and founded TransAct, Inc., a direct marketing consultancy dedicated to best practices in direct and internet marketing including strategy development, audience targeting, creative, production and delivery. John is recognized as an expert in strategic marketing. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (BA) and the Wharton Graduate Business School (MBA). Past and present Board participations include: the National Italian American Foundation, Portledge School, Southside Hospital on Long Island, Great South Bay YMCA, etc.
